Christmas Décor That Is Fun To Make

Tidbit # 2: Christmas recipes are built upon traditions, long family traditions that grow and change with each new generation.  As the world becomes more health conscious, recipes change to accommodate the healthy changes we each make in our own dietary guidelines.  It isn’t sinful to modify or adjust a family recipe as long as you keep a copy of the original.

Homemade crafts are a fun way to create Christmas décor and build upon traditions for the whole family. In our home, the making of cinnamon gingerbread ornaments for the Kitchen Christmas tree fills the house with the sweet scent of cinnamon while filling our hearts with happy holiday memories that will last a lifetime. Each year as we unpack the decorations made from previous years, the children and I reflect on the happy moments shared in holidays past. It is taking the time to implement such traditions into the holiday season that will insure my own children learn to appreciate and enjoy the quiet moments in their life and in the holidays; The moments where memories are made and preserved for many years to come.

Another Christmas décor craft activity that is fun for the entire family and creates a wonderful decoration for the home is the creation of a holiday wreath. Taking the children on a brisk holiday walk in the woods will provide plenty of greenery to put into the wreath. With a wire wreath form, some florist wire and a good selection of holiday greenery, a family wreath can be made in an hour of less. Working with groups of the collected greenery, simply wire the clumps of green onto the wire frame, building and working your way around the circular frame. When the frame is completely covered with greenery, finish off the wire tightly, securing the greens to the frame. Then wire pinecones, berries or other decorative items to the frame or add seasonal Christmas décor items such as ornaments or lights. This is a family activity that everyone will enjoy repeating year after year.
