As the holidays draw closer, families gather around the dinning room and kitchen tables to plan their holiday menus.  The yearly ritual of gathering together the family recipes to slowly read and remember each holiday meal; discussing who attended, what dishes were included, what was good and what was awful.  The holiday meal preparation is never more pondered than in those first few weeks of November and December when the hosts and hostess across the America begin to plan their Thanksgiving and Christmas recipes.

Christmas Songs That Fill The Air With Love

When you think about Christmas songs, you think about Little Drummer Boy, Joy to the World and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. There are so many songs and everyone enjoys them during the holiday season. Many artists record CDs with all the popular Christmas music that provides for hours of listening. Some people have never heard all of the popular Christmas songs, there are over a hundred. Some songs you may not know are Percy, the Puny Poinsettia, That Christmas Feeling or What Christmas Means to Me. The less popular songs are just a much of Christmas as the traditional songs.

·         Christmas Caroling

 Many groups and neighborhoods plan Christmas caroling around the holidays. You will see young and old come together to celebrate the holiday and come to your door and perform Christmas songs as a way of spreading Christmas cheer. They sing the more traditional Christmas songs that everyone knows and loves. You will hear Jingle Bells, Deck the Halls, Little Drummer Boy and O Come All Ye Faithful. There are so many lovely songs to sing around the Christmas holiday and having carolers come to you door fills the air with warmth.

Schools Have Christmas Shows

 Tidbit # 2: Christmas recipes are built upon traditions, long family traditions that grow and change with each new generation.  As the world becomes more health conscious, recipes change to accommodate the healthy changes we each make in our own dietary guidelines.  It isn’t sinful to modify or adjust a family recipe as long as you keep a copy of the original.

Many schools have Christmas pageants and shows where the students spend weeks rehearsing Christmas songs. Usually within a few weeks before Christmas, you can find area schools advertising their programs that families and friends go to and hear the wonderful sounds of children singing Christmas songs in harmony. The schools put on a show to build students confidence and to provide the community with Christmas spirit. The programs are designed by the students and the teachers and are always very beautifully presented.

Christmas Songs And Parades

Many communities have Christmas parades on Thanksgiving and other weekends as Christmas approaches. You will hear Christmas songs from everywhere. School bands play the songs, as do the other big bands that are included in the parades. Thanksgiving is the start of the holiday season and from this time on, you will hear Christmas music all around. Christmas songs play on the radio, on jukeboxes in your favorite watering hole and on the street corners. Some organizations that ring bells for donations also have carolers that sing some Christmas songs to attract people while other organizations sell Christmas songs on CDs. Everywhere you go, you cannot help but hear the sounds and songs of Christmas from speakers, stores and little ones that are gearing up for the special day.

 Tidbit # 3: By following a few basic safety tips, you can help to ensure that you outdoor Christmas decorations will make your holidays merry and bright without the concern over injuries or fire. Christmas is not the time for emergency room visits so get smart and stay safe for your holidays.
